Tarita Green Energy Limited plans to establish a 195 MW solar PV park and a 135 MW green hydrogen electrolysis plant in Kenya's North Rift county of Uasin Gishu at Kaptagat.
● The project, executed under its subsidiary Kaptagat Solar Park Limited, aims to produce 40,000 metric tonnes of green ammonia annually. Components include a solar PV plant, electrolyser for hydrogen production, ammonia synthesis plant, storage tanks, fertilizer manufacturing complex, and ammonia terminal at Kaptagat Railway Station.
● The project site spans 1400 acres near the 132 KV Kabarnet Lessos Transmission line for power supply. Green ammonia production aims to meet regional fertilizer demand and reduce emissions compared to traditional methods.
